Show Transportation Board Begins to Roll The five member board appointed by the City Council Coun-cil to govern and guide the affairs of the newly created free Park City transportation transportat-ion system which received City approval this week, met for the first time Monday morning. The board consists of Jan Wilking, KenOsswald Jim Doilney, Lloyd Stevens and Dennis O'Brien. Ail members being relatively relat-ively new to the transportation transpor-tation business spent much of the meeting discussing general topics and throwing out suggestions as to what the new system will encompass. encom-pass. Later the group was divided into two contingents, one to investigate the finances fin-ances of the new system and the other to look into the most effective network of scheduling sched-uling and routing. They did however, decide to contract out the actual operation of the system on a bid basis. According to Ken Osswald a gentleman who operates a Summer season tourist shuttle and transportation system in Vernal, Utah, has shown an interest in the Park City transportation contract and will be in town Tuesday to investigate its possibilities possibil-ities and probably make a bid to the City. Along further transportation transpor-tation lines, there will be a State transportation planning meeting for Summit and Wasatch Count.es, Thursday October 30 at the Memorial Building. The mee! in g is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. and the public is invited. The purpose of the meeting meet-ing is i.o gatnei' public input which will assist Siate transportation tran-sportation -officials in planning plan-ning for future transportation transportat-ion projects and involvements. |
