"We get a lot of hands-on experience," ex-perience," said student Krystell Hebdon. The original Evans Hairstyling Hairstyl-ing Qillege was opened over .'50 years ago in Cedar City by Dale and Carma Evans, parents of Kellie Evans. In ad-dil ad-dil ion to the Cedar City and Lindon locations, there is one in St. George. All are operated by family members. "My older brother and my younger brother operate the other locations," said Evans. The school currently has 45 students who spend 2,000 hours during a year training for their cosmetology careers. "We offer one-on-one training," train-ing," said Evans. "99 percent of our students pass the state board test with a 95 percent or higher." High school students can also attend the school for credit. The students learn everything ev-erything from pedicures, manicures and facials to cuts, weaves and hair extensions. "We specialize in cut and coloring," col-oring," said Evans. The school has just started offering a 1,000 hour barber course for those interested in just cutting hair. Three instructors teach the classes as well as supervise the students while working with customers. "We are booked all day. It's a lot of great experience," said student Brittany Jessen. Summer hours for customers custom-ers are Tuesday and Wednesday Wednes-day from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. "Tuesdays are busy days," said Evans.
