Show Blues, rock groups set for Terrace performance Two talented West coast groups, The Steve Miller Blues Band and Initial Shock will make their first appearances in Salt Lake Saturday at 8:30 p.m. in the Terrace Ballroom. The dance concert, presented by Factory Co., will also feature lights by Electric Umbrella. The Steve Miller Band carries a lengthy list of credentials, including a new album on the Capitol label. Steve Miller's appearance at the Fillmore West in San Francisco was a sellout affair. The group has also played to crowds at the Matrix and Avalon Ballrooms in San Francisco, and performed at the Monterey Pop Festival in 1967. Miller's band has been together for a relatively short period of time, but has made great strides since the release of its second album entitled, "Sailor." Audiences can expect a little bit of just about everything from the Steve Miller Band, as its music has a wide range of variations. Often, it is a combination of heavy blues and rock. Appearing with Steve Miller will be Initial Shock another Bay Area group. Initial Shock's visit to S a lt Lake will be one of it first gig's outside of California, and a very heavy performance can be expected. Tickets are on sale at the Terrace, Cosmic Aeroplane, Kamaron, and the Blue Door in Ogden. The performance will consist of one show with two sets by both groups. Admission is $3. 1 |
