Show Put student money to better use The Executive Council of the Associated Students of the University of Utah (ASUU) has done it again. , Irresponsibly using student funds, council members have voted to install a walnut magazine rack of all things in their offices . at a cost of $1 56. X A majority of council members argued tftat the rack was necessary as a display area I v,fbr tne distribution of ASUU pamphlets and 1 applications. Granted, that a display area is -necessary, but the Chronicle questions the wisdom of spending $1 56 for it. The Council, however, did take the trouble to procure several bids; one was as high as $230. Despite the council's acceptance of a more economical bid, the Chronicle asks what is wrong with the simple idea of using a table to solve the display problem. Do student government officers think students pay $11.25 a quarter so that Executive Council can decorate its offices with a walnut magazine rack? |
