at the annual Awards Program on May 21 Students nominated by the faculty turned in resumes to be considered for outstanding freshman sophomore and students A faculty committee is presently reviewing the resumes to choose three students from each category for an interview The combination of the resume the interview and the student's GPA win determine the outstanding student in each area Nominated students and their parents or spouses are invited to attend the Awards Program The departmental heads in academics and activities win also award outstanding students in specific areas Robert Torgerson of academics will also present the honor cords to graduating students The ASCEU presidency will also present awards for outstanding faculty member and outstanding student on page g) non-traditio- eligible a student must comply with the enrollment and behavior practices of the college and the Student Financial Services Section 484 of the Higher Education Act requires a student maintain quality and quantity progress Quality is measured by the grade point average The quantity requires a maximum time frame a student has to complete hisher educational jeetive It also requires a minimum number of credits must be completed each quarter For example by foe ob-bas- ed end of the second quarter the applicant must have completed 18 credit hours snd have a cumulative GPA of 175 (C-- ) By the end of the fourth quarter foe student must have completed 39 hours with a cumulative GPA of 20(C) not officially withdraw from classes the student owes a re fund or a repayment of student aid or the student has enrolled in the required number of quarters for a certain program or degree but has failed to complete foe required credit hours If a student is not eligible for financial aid at a the
