Show SYDNEY 0TTLEY, WIFE RETURN TO S. H. HOME Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Ottley returned re-turned to their home and business in Salt Lake Tuesday after having served four years as president of the New Zealand LDS mission. It was the second time for Elder Ottley to fill a mission in New Zealand, the first in 1912-16 when he, as a young man, served as a missionary in the islands. On this mission, somewhat different, dif-ferent, he presided over the entire mission of 14,000 population, 16 districts and 75 branches. Mrs. Ottley Ott-ley assisted her husband in the mission home at Aukland and as adviser to all the women's organizations organi-zations in the mission, which was no small task. The New Zealand mission composes com-poses all the North and South islands is-lands of New Zealand. It was just six months ago that the Cook islands, is-lands, Fiji and Niue were segregated segre-gated from the New Zealand mission. mis-sion. It was during the Ottleys' stay in the New Zealand mission that the extensive building program was begun and almost completed in the islands. Many new chapels were constructed and the pride and joy of the islanders, church officials and missionaries is the new college almost completed in the islands. Although mission duties occupied so much of their time there was little time for loneliness, word from home and the visits of general gen-eral authorities was a boost to morale and always welcome. Outstanding Out-standing were the visits of President Presi-dent and Mrs. David O. McKay, the first visit of a president of the church to the islands, and President Presi-dent McKay's first visit since he was there in his capacity as an apostle. They enjoyed a six day tour of the islands with the McKays. Mc-Kays. Also visiting during the Ottleys' stay in the islands was Apostle LaGrand Richards and President Carl Buehner of the presiding bishopric. bish-opric.
