Avalanche clinic Did you hear about Scotts Bowl sliding from top to bottom last week? Due to the heavy snowfall that Park Citv skiers are witnessing, the chances for getting caught in an avalanche ava-lanche are much greater now than in previous years. Come to an avalanche clinic sponsored by the Park City Recreation Department. It will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 20 at 7:30 p.m. in the Memorial Building and will cover slides, films, and guest speakers. February nordic clinic Due to the popularity of the January nordic clinic, the Recreation Department will be repeating the same package of lessons: two Saturdays of fundamentals and two Saturdays Satur-days of half-day and full day excursions. Call White Pine Touring Center for further information. Soccer registration Sign up for the all new Park City youth soccer program. Boys and girls ages 5-16 will have the opportunity to join the American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO), sponsored by the Park City Recreation Department. Last year, over 200 kids participated in Park City. Sign ups will be held in the Memorial Building on two Saturdays: Jan. 23 and Jan. 30. from 9 a.m. to 12 noon. Community Education A class in typing will begin Wednesday, Jan. 27, 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. A shop class including wood and metal work will begin Wednesday Jan. 27, 6 to 9. Both classes will be held at Park City High School. Volunteer for KPCW KPCW is now accepting applications for volunteers in the areas of programming, newsinformation and production. Training sessions will begin the second week in February. KPCW'S Health Talk This Sunday at 5:50 p.m., Dr. Bud Keye, moderator of Health Talk and his guest, Nancy Hutchinson, will discuss Anorexia Nervosa. Health Talk is heard every Sunday at 5:50 and deals with health topics and issues of interest to residents of Park City. Well-child clinic The Summit County Health Department will hold its well-child well-child clinic on Jan. 20, from 9 - 11 a.m. in the Memorial Building in Park City. This is by appointment only. For information in-formation or appointment call 649-9072. Coffee bar A relaxing evening of Christian music every Friday evening in January from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. beginning Jan. 8.
