Show The Marshal's Courtesy to Nicholson. . Through the courtesy of Marshal Ireland, Ire-land, John Nicholson was yesterday permitted per-mitted to attend tbe funeral services of the late Francis Piatt in the Thirteenth ward Assembly Rooms. Mr. Nicholson did not address the assembly from the pulpit, but a somewhat lengthy paper which he had carefully prepared and which contained personal reminiscences of the life of the deceased was read by Bishop Whitney. The ex-editor had been a close acquaintance of the deceased for a great many years, and was quite eloquent elo-quent in his eulogy. - The fare at the Pen does not seem to have gone hard with Mr. Nicholson at least there was no evidence of it in his appearance. |
