Show IN JUDGE POWERS' COURT. The Hemen way Sentence Postponed David M. Stuart Gets the Usual Dose. In Judge Powers' Court at Ogden this morning there were several cases awaiting await-ing sentence, of which the following disposition dis-position was made : Bishop David M. Stuart, convicted of unlawful cohabitation, was sentenced to six months in the penitentiary and to pay a fine of $300, with costs, and to be .held until paid. Editor Hemenway was given additional time in which to write further eulogies on himself,' the Court postponing his sentence sen-tence till February 8th. : Frank Wheeler, for larceny, was S3nt up for five years in the penitentiary. Jim Brown, one of Ogden's policemen, who will be remembered as having as-. as-. saulted prisoners under his charge, some time ago, was fined $40 for that offense. Jack Hayes, found guilty of assault on a defenseless woman, got three months in the county jail. |
