Show What Hepped to Jones This ia the title of the play which will be presented iX the Opera Houte Saturday night Dec. 21st, by the Public School Faculty. The play is one continuous laugh from beginning to end. Jones, the leading character in the play is a hymn book peddler. He attends at-tends a prise fight in a small town at which Professor 'Goodby is also present. The old Professor get3 over enthusiaotic over the fight, makes a good deal of unnecessary noise which results in police interference. The old gentleman escapes down a waterspout, water-spout, Jones follows him and succeeds suc-ceeds in getting into Goodby'shome. In the meantime, the Professor's brother, a bishop of Australia is en-route en-route to America to visit his brother ; and family, A new suit of clothes for the Bishop is sent to Goodby's home just at the time when Jones . is trying to escape the police. He at j once adores the new apparel and ! plays the part of the Bishop. In the J course of time the real Bishop appear? ap-pear? and confusions reigns. The play continues with just such humourous scenes throughout until Jones is finally discovered, the Australian Bishop iibeiated from jail, the old maid finds her affinity and they all live happy everafter. This effort on the part of the faculty is given for the purpose of securing funds to defray expenses incured by them in fitting their office of-fice with new furniture. A liberal j patronage is solicited. |
