Show A VISIT TO THE TEMPLE. On Saturday last, Prest.[President] Taylor and party visited the Temple, and made quite a thorough inspection of its present condition and progress. By the thoughtfulness and care of Superintendent Card, the plank walk by which the ascent is made to the top of the walls, had been widened and made more secure, in anticipation of a visit from the party. This walk, passing in a winding and zigzag manner, through the interior of the building, affords easy and safe conduct to the top of the walls and upper scaffolding. Standing on that part of the latter which passes along the west wall of the building, a magnificent view of the entire valley was had. There were eleven or twelve different towns and villages in easy range of the vision, while the level plain, dotted with farm houses, and watered by beautiful streams-the whole enclosed within a frame of high, rugged mountains-formed a picture, the equal of which in extent, beauty, and magnificence, is rarely seen in this or any other country. "What a beautiful valley!" was the reiterated exclamation.

The walls of the Temple are now nearly seventy-five feet high, and it is expected that within about six weeks they will be up to the square and ready to receive the timbers of the roof.

Members of the party seemed much gratified at witnessing the progress that had been made, and all were impressed at magnitude of the structure, a good idea of which was obtained while ascending the plank walk referred to. |
