For starters at age four, Jane wandered into a hen house for six hours, her mother was very worried and even called the police. Jane wondered where in a hen there might be a hole big enough for an egg to come out. So she hid in the house and waited very determined. de-termined. . Jane accomplished many things in her life that contributed to the knowledge of chimpanzees chim-panzees and the world of science. Some of her discoveries were that chimpanzees are more closely related to humans, biologically and behaviorally, than any other living creatures. Another was they have developed de-veloped different tool-using cultures in different parts in Africa. She later recorded that chimps are highly intelligent and unique and have a close supportive suppor-tive bond between family members. They can also acquire almost all human infectious diseases. Jane has been awarded the 1990 Kyoto Prize (the Japanese equivalent of the Nobel). She has also written many books in- , HOLLY DRAKE eluding a best seller, "In the Shadow of Man." Her book 'The Chimpanzee Family Book' ' was awarded the UNICEF award for the best Children's Book of 1989. Today Jane has an institute called "The Jane Goodall Institute." In-stitute." The long hours spent with them shaped my understanding of human nature and of the chimpanzees place in nature." Jane Goodall was one of the best women of science.
