Show Give Your Face a Rest! A trip to the high country or the wilderness is a golden opportunity oppor-tunity to give your face, nails and skin a chance to breathe. You'll be surprised to 'see how becoming a tanned face can be. And it's useless to try to keep powder on a sunburned nose. Clean your face with a good cleansing cream, use an astringent (the icy water from a mountain stream is wonderful) and then put on a greaseless cream or sunburn oil that will sink into the skin but protect it from drying and burning. Use a soft lipstick or pomade to keep your lips from chapping. Even the men will be glad of the colorless pomade because be-cause mountain air is very dry and badly chapped lips can spoil any vacation. Nail polish won't survive many days of camping so the best thing to. do is- take it off before you leave home and file your nails down fairly short so they won't break off. A good nail brush and hand lotion will be worth their weight in gold and don't forget to take along an emory board and your manicure scissors. As for your hair, a camping vacation va-cation is the best time in the world to give it the brushing and sunning sun-ning that bring it back to life after af-ter a year of permanents and hot driers. Don't try to dress your hair in curls and pompadours as you do in town. It will take up too much time just when you want to be doing other things and youJll really look better if you iust brush it oui and tie a ribbon around it. Don't go hatless if you're going to be out in the sun all day. The violet rays or something they have in the air in high places will burn and fade your hair and play hob with your skin. If you take the sun in small doses you can acquire ac-quire a beautiful tan and come back to town looking so handsome hand-some and healthy all your friends will hate you. |
