The Ladies Literary clurj veld a benefit luncheon Thursday after no!.n in the recreation hall for the purpose of buying books for thi community library. President La-Keen La-Keen Lowe was in charge of general gen-eral arrangements. A two-coursi luncheon was served with covers placed for 40 guests, under the (IU reclion of Mrs. Conrad Doney, Mrs. Wayne Rich, Mrs. Vinton Merrill Mrs. Albert M. Parkinson Mrs! Joe Hatch, Mrs. Donald Hob'bs, and Mrs. Stanley Ralph. Table games were in charge of Mrs. Homer D. Williams and Mrs. Floyd Robinson Prizes were won by Mrs. J. o Cooke, Mrs. Grant Doney, Mrs Grant Lewis, Mrs. B. R. Parkinson and Mrs. Levor Doney. The program pro-gram under the direction of Mrs Marvin Neeley included musical selection by Shirley Stokes and Fern Shumway. In 'charge of ticket tic-ket sale was Mrs. Cyril Lowe. Out of town guests were Alice Pond Maybell Pyke, Libbie Karren, and Kate Tyrner of Lewiston. Mr. and Mrs. U. D. Talbot and family of Lewiston were dinner guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Wright, Sunday. Mrs. Donald Robinson entertained entertain-ed the Contract Bridge club at her home Monday evening. Lunch was served and bridge was played with Mrs. Burton Blamires winning the high score. Four members were present and special guests were, Mrs. Harold Lowe, Mrs. Russell Bradford and Mrs. Ben Porter. Mrs. Pearl Williams and sons, Dan and Joe of Malad were visitors visit-ors at. the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wilbnrn Robinson, Sunday. The closing meeting of tha PTA was held Monday evening in the school music room with Mrs. Vernon Ver-non Oliverson in charge. The pro-giam pro-giam included two numbers by the high school girls Glee club directed di-rected by Straford Smith, accompanied accom-panied hy Mary Smith; reading by Joyce Stokes; installation of otft- cers by Mrs. A. C. Hull, district PTA president; report of State PTA convention by Mrs. H. J. Maughan .state vice-president; discussion dis-cussion on home and community happiness by Homer D. Williams. Officers for the coming year installed in-stalled were Mrs. Leonard Butter-worth, Butter-worth, president; Miss Mary Beat-ty, Beat-ty, vice-president and Mrs. Levor Doney, Secretary to replace Mrs. Vernon Oliverson, Miss Alice Caldwell Cald-well and Mrs. Grace Oliverson. The attendance prize was per-manlly per-manlly awarded to Miss Alice Caldwell, Cald-well, and first grade students. This group has had the highest average attendance of parents at PTA during dur-ing the past year. Mr. and Mrs. Homer D. Williams and family moved into the home recently vacated by Mr. and Mrs. Robert Wright last week. Sergeant Milo Holden of the U.S. army called on friends here Friday en route from Fort Jay, New York, to Camp Haan in California. His sister Lorna Holdon of Salt Lake City accompanied him here. Mrs. Leonard Butterworth enter lained the Gaiety club at her home Wednesday afternoon. Bridge wa: played and high score was awarded to Mrs. Vernon Oliverson and all-cut all-cut went to Mrs. Uartlet Nash Mrs. Frank Woodward and Mrs. Lester Lowe were special guests.
