Show Record Balloting Features City El action Here Tuesday ENCUMBENTS HOLD ALL BUT ONE POST Forsgren Re-Elected Mayor; S. P. Packer Only New Councilman Preston's city administration for Hie past two years, headed by Mayor J. Clifford Forsgren was endorsed en-dorsed for a second term here Tuesday in a closely contested election that saw an all-time record in balloting. The old council lost only one office to the opposing tic-xet, tic-xet, that of a second precinct councilman, coun-cilman, where Dr. S. P. Packer won a council scat. A record total of I4S4 ballots was cast in the voting, topping any previous pre-vious record by at least -00 votes. The race between the Independent Indepen-dent and the Progressive ticket candidates was close considering the number of ballots cast. Mayor May-or For.-.gren polled 705 votes to 672 for T. It. Bowden, a margin of 12:'. otes. Dr. S. P. Packer received 717 votes to defeat Wells McEntire, incumbent second precinct councilman, council-man, who polled 059, a margin of 5S votes. Contrary lo rumors, there were only 10 ballots thrown out by election elec-tion judges as improperly marked.
