Show PIONEER SAWMILL MAN PASSES TO OTHER SIDE Joseph M. Harris, pioneer sawmill builder of Utah, died Saturday morning morn-ing of general debility at the homo of his son, Ezra Harris, 800 South Fourth East street. The body will bo sent to Ogdon, from where it. will bo buried Sunday afternoon. Tho hour will be decided upon when a son living at. St.. John, Or., is heard from. Mr. Harris was 7.S years old. Ho. camo to Utah in 1850, and made his homo near the mouth of Ogden canyon. Whou the manufacture of lumber' became be-came a necessity ho built a. mill on Ogdon Og-don canyon crock, which was used as lato as 1800, when Mr. Harris left it and moved into Ogden. He lived there the remaining yoara of his lifo ami was brought to Salt Lako two weeks ago seriously ill. Ho is survived .by six children, all of whom live iu Utah with one exception. . |
