The skyscraper, the suspension hritifie, the machine are objects which express the deepest feelings and aspirations of our time. For that reason more attention is paid here to engineers like Brunei, designer of the Thames Tunnel, than to the anachronistic Post-Impressionists. It is in this film that Lord Clark sums up. In spite of our atom blasts and Doomsday machines he concludes that civilization is inching ahead .. ."Like a rock climb, three steps up, two steps down but in the end ... an ascent." Eligible to register are students now attending the spring quarter, said Milton C. Mecham, dean of admissions and records. "This is a new advance registration system which we believe will be more convenient for both students and the institution," Dean Mecham said. Packets and schedules will be distributed from the registrar's office from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, Mr. Mecham said. Course cards will be pulled for all students who pay either their full fees and tuition or for those who pay only the $10 registration fee. Students must complete packet cards as required and make payment under one of the two above options by presenting the packet cards to the cashier's office, Administration Building between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. and then return the cards to the registrar's office for a receipt, Mr. Mecham said. Course cards will be given to the students in the order packets are received, so that it is to the student's advantage to return his registration at an early date, the registrar said. Students who pay only the registration fee when turning in packets may complete their payment of fees by mail. The social security number of the student should be on the face of the check. All fees must be paid by 3 p.m. Sept. 22, which is the last day of autumn registration or a late fee will be charged, regardless of the point at which cards were turned in or part of the payment was made, Mr. Mecham said. Mailing of packets during summer months will only be done if the student includes a stamped, addressed legal sized envelope, This accommodation is for those students who are undecided at this time as to future plans. |
