He also oversees the system's home care program. UTAH STATE FAIR Coons has devoted more than 23 years to Intermountain Healthcare's hospital by Jane Excell operations. Chris spent the majority of his career serving the Utah V alley community. He was named Director of Marketing, Research and Development for the systems' Utah county facilities in 1983. He was later promoted to Assistant Administrator of Outpatient Services for the region. After a five-year stint as an operations officer in Intermountain's Urban Central Region, Coons returned to Utah County as its Chief Operations Officer in 1997. In 1998 he was named V ice President of the Urban South Region and served in this capacity until 2005, when he was tapped to establish the Southwest Region of IntermouniairTs hospital operations. In addition to his work with Intermountain Healthcare, Coons serves on the Executive Committee of UHA, Utah Hospitals and Health Systems Association. He was named .board chair in 2004 and served an l'8-month term in this capacity. He has also served as the UHA representative to the Utah Medical Association and chaired the UHA Government Relations Committee. Coons is also active in Autumn Excell a senior at Panguitch quality improvement efforts, serving on the Healthlnsight Nevada board and the High School and the current President Utah Patient Safety Steering Committee.
