Show Page 3 It Makes Seme... By Veda Hale It's about time for some basic hints: Bauy wipes... You are going to Church or someplace and someone spills on clean clothes. Grap a baby wipe, which will get out stain about like bleach. No Bab> .' There is no rule that you can't buy them anyway. Crayon on the wall...use a damp rag dipped in backing soda and a little elbow grease. Permanent marker on the counter, like from a damp price tag from meat set on counter.. ..use rubbing alcohol on a paper towel. S^O.S. pads. How many times do you only use one a little bit, think to save it and then find it all rusted. So cut them in two when, you buy them. This also helps scissors feel sharper. Blood stain: Use a little hydrogen peroxide. Window cleaning: Straight vinegar is still the most often suggested hint. But here's a good one I hadn't thought of before. Use vertical strokes inside and horizontal ones outside (or other way around.) Then when you stand back and look at the job you have done, if you see a streak, you will know whether it is inside or out. I still like hint to spray a little perfume on a light bulb as a room freshener. But a new one to come along is to use sheets of fabric softener in drawers. Linens and other things smell nice for weeks. LEGAL NOTICES Artificial flowers looking dusty? Put them in a bag with salt and shake gently or as much as you think they will take. Works great. Burned food in a pan...drop a little dish soap in enough water to cover bottom and bring to a boil. Usually that's all it takes. Celery. Too much to eat up fast? Wrap it in aluminum foil and refrigerate. It will keep for weeks. Mosquito bite... simply reach for some hand soap and rub it on as soon as you notice bite. Dirty mirror...use air freshener to clean. Nice smell afterwards. Splinter in the hand....reach for scotch tape. If it is quite little, it will come out with the tape. Reminds me of a time in my earlier life when my son fell and his hand went into a prickly pear. I spent a lot of sad time picking out the tiny spines. Then someone told me to use crazy clue spread on the mess. When dry, I pealed it off and out came the pesky prickly-pear spines. The job was over in minutes. Sure helped the patience and the crying child.
