Show (CAffi FOlEtlL ' REXTJilNDAY John Carver, one of- the oldest residents res-idents of this state, died at 5 o'clock yesterday morning at the family residence res-idence in Plain Clty.'-agod 89. yearB. Ho was" ouc of the first settlors of Weber cpunty, coming to this section in iSfi4. J. S. Carver, of this city, Is one of the surviving sons. Tho elder Carver was born In England Eng-land on August 22, 1822. At the age of 21 years he embraced the faith of the Latter Day Saints and came to America in 1852. After a residence of little moro than a year in St. Louis, he came to this state and settled in the western part of Weber county. Besides the wife, "he is survived by tho following sons and daughters: John W, Plain City; J. s., ot this city, George and Parley, of Preston, Ida; Mrs. Minnie Geddes, JoBlah, Willard, Wil-lard, Mrs. Frances Moyest Mrs. Ellen Knight and Mrs. Emma Palmer, all of Plain City; Hobor, of Brlgham City; David, Hyrum and Albert, of Eden; Mrs, Lizzie Stallings, of Eden; and Louis, of Ogden. The funeral will be held Sunday afternoon with services at the Plain City meeting house at l o'clock. |
