Show Will Jardine Ride 'Em Straight Up? MANDAN, N. D. Accepting a dare of a boyhood chum, William Wil-liam "Bill" Jardine, secretary of agriculture, has been entered en-tered In the broncho-riding event at the annual Mandan roundup to be held here starting July 2. Mr. Jardine "will be ready to ride as many bronchos as you can lead before him," declared F. M. Russel, an assistant secretary of agriculture, In a letter to John M. Stephens, superintendent of the United Unit-ed States Northern Great Plains Field station here. Jardine and Stephens were born at Malad City, Idaho, and grew up together. to-gether. Both punched cows as youngster young-ster and both developed reputations as "mean hombres" with an "outlaw." Then "Bill" Jardine went over Into western Montana and punched cows for four years.
