Show ALT-&MONT - MT0 EMMONS By LOIS LaROSE A very large crowd attended the wedding reception for El-don El-don Monson and Joy Shiner at the Altamont Chapel Saturday night. The couple were married mar-ried earlier in the evening. Lots of nice gifts were received by the newlyweds and the Basin Boys furnished the music for the dance. The complete wedding story will appear in next weeks paper. Mrs. Betty Clark, formerly of Altonah, was operated on at the L.D.S. Hospital in Salt Lake Wednesday. She underwent under-went heart surgery by repairing a hole in her heart. She is making nice progress and will be out of the recovery room Monday. We all wish her a speedy recovery. Her brother George Berrett of Roosevelt and her sister Afton Jesson of Mtn. Home spent three days by her bedside after the three hour operation. Mrs. Revella Daniels was busy this past week calling at the home in this area. She is the new Fuller Brush dealer in this area. Any one wishing Fuller products feel free to get in touch with her. Mr. Clyde McFee, president of the .Angus Association in Idaho, was overnight guest at the ranch of Mr. and Mrs. Anthon Rust. Mr. McFee brought them a truck load of Angus cattle. Mrs. Pearl Jenkins of Salt Lake City arrived in Altamont to spend the summer with her daughter Mrs. ILene McConkie. Miss Jeanne McConkie spent the weekend at home from her studies in Salt Lake. Mrs. Lois LaRose, secretary of the American Legion Auxiliary Auxili-ary Unit 126, attended the Spring Convention of the District Dis-trict 9 Saturday evening at Duchesne, Her Unit was awarcb-ed awarcb-ed a Certificate from National for having met their membership member-ship for 1966. A Certificate was also given to the Altonah Unit 53 for their membership. Relatives from this area who motored to Price to attend the funeral for Max Empy were Mr. and Mrs. Lyard McConkie, Mrs. Florence Jessen and Dewey and Dick Jesson. Mr. Empy, their cousin, passed away in California where he lived and the funeral was held in Price on Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. . Edward Mal-strom Mal-strom of Salt Lake City were weekend guests with principal and Mrs. Mark Simmons. Mr. Malstrom, Master Education Psychology teacher, came to discuss counciling at Altamont High School for next year. Visitors calling on Mrs. Lois LaRose and family during the week were her mother, Mrs. Ada Zufelt, sister Nola Zuniga, and daughter Delephine and nephew Ferron Secakuku of Fort Duchesne. Buster and Glorianna LaRose brought Mrs. Gary Huskett to get Indian Ind-ian costumes for the TV show on Sunday. Mrs. Henerietta Williams, all from Brigham City, accompanied them. Mr. and Mrs. Earl LeBeau of Fort Duchesne visited on Friday. George Wall from Salt Lake City is visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Pete Wall for an extended stay. Mrs. Dora Stringham entertained enter-tained with a turkey dinner for her parents Mr. and Mrs. Pete Wall. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Thanker and family also were guests at the dinner on Sunday. Altamont will hold their Annual Stock Show at the Rodeo Grounds here on May 6tht The public is cordially invited to attend. Mrs. Maureen Stevenson and Mrs. Shirley Lindsay along with their children left for Hanksville on Friday to spend the weekend with their husbands who are working there. Grant Hansen was burning dry weeds in ditches at his ranch in Arcadia when the wind shifted direction and sheds and corrals were burned down. With the quick action of the heavy equipment, dirt was pushed up for fire line and sav- cd the house. Brent Wall was cut and shaken up when he dozed at the wheel of his car and ran into the back of a parked pickup. Brent was hospitalized overnight and is now convalescing at home. |
