Show B A JACOBY ATTENDS CONVENTION Mr. and Mrs. B.A. Jacoby and daughter Julie left April 19th for Minneapolis, Minnesota, Minne-sota, where Mr. Jacoby attended the National School Board Convention Con-vention there, beginning April 23 running through April 26. The convention was held at the Minneapolis Auditorium, where more than 6, 000 attended. Vice president Hubert Humphrey Hum-phrey addressed the general assembly, and talked on Federal Fed-eral Education. Clinics were then held, with the attending members given a choice of those they wished to attend. Mr. Jacoby attended the clinic which dealt with the Improving of Teaching Personnel. He reported that this was very educational edu-cational and beneficial. While Mr. Jacoby attended the convention his wife, Agnes and daughter, Julie, did a bit of sightseeing which included, among other tilings, the art museums. The Jacoby fs then traveled to Wisconsin where they visited with relatives. From there they motored to Chicago, where they toured the exhibits i of the National Institute, of Fine Arts. At the Institute of Research and Industry, they viewed such displays as the Telephone Company, the Missile Mis-sile Industry, the Medical Institute, Cancer Research, and the anticipated research in these fields 10 years from now. They returned to Duchesne Monday and on Tuesday Mrs. Jacoby and daughter Julie returned to Salt Lake with Jerry, who is scheduled to depart from Salt Lake for Anchorage, Alaska, where he has accepted employment for the summer. |
