LYNDA HANSEN Altamont High School Students: TOM THACKER, SUSAN VANCE, LYNDA HANSEN PRIDE OF PERFORMANCE FEATURE ON KUED TV The "Pride of Performance" vocation education program for j high school students will be j telecast several times during the forepart of May, featuring three students from the Altamont Alta-mont High School, This show is telecast from KUED-TV. Announcement of participation participa-tion on this program by Tom j Thacker, Susan Vance and Lynda Hansen, Altamont High School students, was made by William E. Lewis, vocational education director for the Duchesne County School District, Dis-trict, and Principal Mark Simmons Sim-mons of the Altamont High School. The three students went to the television studio earlier this week to cut the tapes for this "What's My Line" type of television tele-vision broadcast. The first presentation of the show to the public will be Friday, May 6, at 6:30 p. m. The following week, the show will be presented at the same station on Monday at 8 a. m. ; Tuesday at 3:15 p. m. ; Wednesday at 7:30 a. m. ; and Thursday, at 12:00 noon. These programs are presented on KBYU (Channel 11), also, on a delayed basis on Monday at 1 p. m. , Tuesday at 2:35 p. m. , and Friday at 9 a. m. Rex Campbell, manager, TV Station KUED, University of Utah, is the panel moderator for this vocational education feature, which is patterned to the popular network show, What's My Line. " Mr. Campbell Camp-bell features the students as to the excellence of their studies and preparation in vocational courses. In other words, their pride of performance in vocational voca-tional preparation. The panel guessers attempt to state the vocation for which the student is preparing as a one -line clue to this occupational potential is written on the studio blackboard black-board by the student guest. The vocational agriculture courses include farm mechanics, shop, industrial arts, business subjects and home economics. This program pinpoints the accomplishments and the skills learned by students in Utahfs high schools, Mr. Lewis pointed out. |
