The entries were made through Duchesne Unit No. 22, The American Legion Auxiliary. Mrs. Dona B. Hansen, librarian at the Duchesne Elementary School, is poppy poster contest chairman for the unit. Winners in over 200 entries in the district this year are Starling Moat, fifth grade, Du chesne, lor the iilth-sixth grade division; Valenna Moat, seventh grade, Duchesne for the seventh-eighth seventh-eighth -ninth grade entries; Elizabeth Goff, seventh grade, second place in this same division. divi-sion. Mr. and Mrs.C. D. Moat are parents of Starling and Valenna; and Elizabeth's mother is Mrs. Lily Wimmer, Duchesne. Gift prizes were awarded to the girls, and their posters were displayed in the courtroom at the convention of District Nine, Tho American Legion and Auxiliary April 30, at Duchesne. |
