Show Tigers Meet Parowan Rams in Grid Opener The Milford Tigers meet the Parowan Rams at 8 p. m. Friday in the first official league game of the 1969 season. The game will be played under the lights at Tiger Field. Last week in their first outing of the season Payne's Proteges dropped a 27-7 decision to Juab High of Nephi. Local grid fans were impressed with the spirit of the Tigers, the way they "really hit'" when they tackled a ball-carrier, and the way they kept fight'ng down to the final whistle. line in the first half, and were just unable to get it across. In the third stanza a Gary Smith to Kenny Holm pass was good for 27 yards and a TD. Scott Barnes booted the extra point. Milford had the jitters in the early part of the game, had a pass intercepted and lost the ball twice on fumbles. After the rest period, it was a different dif-ferent story. In Class B the Tribune rates Beaver in the No. 1 slot, Parowan Paro-wan third and Kanab fourth. The Tigers, rated tenth by the Trib, expect to see a different lineup of favorites after the Friday game. Jualb scored first, bringing bring-ing the ball downfield after the kickoff until they were held by the Tigers on the 20. They made good on a three-pointer. The Tigers were held on the three-foot line, and the teams battled between the 20's until late in the second , period when Juab was held and they missed a field goal. However the Tigers were offside, and on the next play the Northerners went over for the TD. Milford was held on the one-i one-i yard line and on the 1-foot : i I S ' ' : ! I ; ! i 1 !
