Show STATE FAIR FEATURES DAILY TOP TALENT ENTERTAINMENT A spectacular lineup of entertainment highlights the 1969 Utah State Fair, which begins Friday, Sept. 12 and runs through Sunday, Sept. 21. Holiday on Ice will open Sept. 16 and will be presented in the new Salt Palace in conjunction with and sponsored by the Fair. The Utah Lions have purchased all seats for the opening night performance, and tickets are available at $2.50 to $4.50 from local Lions or at the gate. All profits will be used in the Lions Sight Conservation program. The Holiday on Ice tickets also include a $1 admission both are free. ! It's "Country Time" Thursday, Thurs-day, Sept. 18, featuring the hottest new country star in the business, Charley Pride. The Baja Sound invades the fairgrounds Friday and Saturday, Satur-day, Sept. 19 and 20, meaning, of course, that the Baja Marimba Marim-ba Band is in town. The group will perform twice each night. The Sunday, Sept. 21, Fair Finale features the Cowsills, known for many hit records and some swinging television spots for the American Dairy Association. Daily variety on the fairgrounds fair-grounds will include magic acts, sky diving, daredevils, bands, and midway shows. The usual fair exhibits will toe bigger and more interesting this year. to the Fair. Beauty opens the gates Friday, Fri-day, Sept. 21, as county queens from all over Utah compete for the title "Miss Utah State Fair of 1969." Saturday and Sunday nights, Sept. 13 and 14, the Fair presents pre-sents John Davidson, one of Hollywood's brightest new stars, with a voice that has captured practically every lady in America. Next in line is Kids Days, Monday, Sept. 15 and Tuesday, Sept. 16, presented by Coca Cola and starring TV's Gentle Ben with Candy Candido and Peggy Ann Nielsen. All kids 6 to 12 get in free with sight bottle caps from Coca Cola. Wednesday night stars Art Linkletter and all the fun of "House Party" and "People Are Funny." Audience participation, partici-pation, prizes, and the Link-letter Link-letter wit make this one of the most unique shows ever presented pre-sented by the Utah State Fair.
