Eden Resident Says Thank You Snowcrest Officers Say Thank You Plaintiffs Are Not “Gadflies” To whoever you are who grooms the Eden Park Arena: there have been times that I’ve felt bad about putting hoof prints in the freshly leveled sand. (But I did and loved it!) To those who hang the American flag at their homes and driveways: it does my heart good. To those who take the time to pick up garbage along the roadside: you make me want to do better. To whoever it was who has gathered my horses, put them back in the corral, and closed the gate that was somehow left open. To all of you, “Thanks” for your willingness to help and make my world a better place. Sincerely, We the 7th grade class officers and the Student Body Officers of Snowcrest Junior High School would like to give a very heartfelt “Thank You” to the Ogden Valley News. You helped us “Make a Difference!” Due to the article in the OGDEN VALLEY NEWS our “Make a Difference Day” service project of collecting stuffed animals for the “Hope Alliance,” Utah Highway Patrol and the Utah Ambulance association was “AWESOME.” The response of the families in the Valley was great. We had two very special donations come to us because of the article, and we want to give a very special “Thank You” to The Swanson Foundation and Timber Creations. We collected over 800 stuffed animals. Thanks for helping us make a difference for other kids. Like a seed blown on the wind, it lands, takes root, and sprouts up in the most unlikely places—inside the gulag, behind barbed-wire fences, on Fascist pavements, in political deserts, between the cracks of petrified dictatorships. As long there are women and men who seek to create a free space in which to make their own lives and a common space in which to forge a communal destiny with others, the struggle for democracy will persist.” The OGDEN VALLEY NEWS has the sole authority to edit and locate any classified advertisement as deemed appropriate. It also reserves the right to refuse any advertising. Dona M. Spinks, Eden I want to thank all of you who supported the bookstore this past year. It has been the best job I have ever had. I enjoyed visiting with you and helping you find books that you wanted. It was also great fun researching and locating old and odd books for you. The book clubs were a special source of enjoyment (from the one that met here at the store to all the clubs who purchased their books here). I learned a great deal from you, about good books and good relationships. We will be selling out this month (inventory, decorations, and bookshelves), hoping to return in the spring with a new look. Thank you all again . . . for one of the best years of my life. To All The Valley Residents Who Came to the Bookstore . . . Invitation for Articles The OGDEN VALLEY NEWS’ liability on account of errors in, or omissions of, advertising shall in no event exceed the amount of charges for the advertising omitted or the space occupied by the error. I personally take great exception to the Standard-Examiner’s choice of words in their October 30 editorial, “Park-land suit opens a new can of worms.” I am sure that many in the Valley share my views. The Standard-Examiner referred to the citizens who initiated the lawsuit as “gadflies,” which Webster’s dictionary defines as a person “who annoys others or rouses them from complacency.” The plaintiffs are honorable men with a just cause who gave of their own time and financial resources to defend what they perceived as an injustice to the public. — Patrick Watson & Benjamin Barber Our heartfelt thanks to those who have fought and sacrificed to give us the freedoms we enjoy today. I look forward to serving the students, parents, and community within the district. - Cheryl Ferrin Wisebird of eden 2595 Hwy 162 #4 Eden Utah 84310 CLOSING SALE (Books, gifts, bookshelves, decorations) Beginning 11/03 30% to 50% off THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT THIS PAST YEAR.
