If you think there is no way drugs are being sold and used in our neighborhoods and in our schools, then think again! Weber and Morgan Counties are experiencing a considerable increase in arrests for drug use and sales. Weber County has had the largest marijuana grow in Utah’s history, which was run by a Mexican Cartel. Weber County is at the forefront as one of the state’s largest drug trafficking areas. Ogden City supplies small towns with drugs here in Weber County and in areas out of state such as Wyoming, Montana, and Idaho. Weber County is a place that anybody at any time can purchase any type of drug—regardless of age, creed, or race. Weber County has been a place for teenagers to have illegal Raves and parties, in the mountains, and in business parks. Weber County has had several methamphetamine labs. Labs have been found in cities such as downtown Ogden, North Ogden, West Ogden, East Ogden, South Ogden, Mountain Green, Hooper, West Haven, Washington Terrace, Farr West, Roy, Riverdale, Pleasant View, Harrisville, West Weber, and Ogden Valley! The sale of illicit drugs generates a sum well and above a million dollars a year in Weber County . . . every year. Drugs can affect any community. Know the signs so we can help our children.
