B Newman manager of ot Pantages Pantages Pan Pan- theatre came into his o own last night at an elaborate banquet which he gave on the stage of the theatre at the conclusion of the second show The banquet et was given to mark his third anniversary as manager of ot the Pantages theatre Lester D. D Freed characterized Mr Newman as the maker of Broadway Broadway Broadway Broad Broad- way the lover of ot the tho limelight and the Hvest livest live wire In the West West- Mr Freed on behalf of Mr Newmans Newman's friends presented him with an elaborate elaborate elaborate rate elk tooth charm chann with two fine teeth mounted in platinum and gold Mr Newman is a member of the local lodge of ot Elks Elk Members of Pantages orchestra also presented him with a gift as a token of their appreciation of his treatment of them during his connection with the theatre Herbert S. S Auerbach characterized Mr Newman as the most popular man in Salt Lake and said that Alexander Pantages on his last visit to Salt Lake had said that Mr Newman had changed the Pantages theatre from a losing proposition to the most profitable profitable profit profit- able house on the Pantages circuit There were or more persons at the banquet |
