Show Third District Court. Proceedings ia the district court ou Thursday.Chief Justice Srdiacfler pro-siding: pro-siding: J, C. Royle, Esq., ou behalf of the attorneys, preseuted tho lullowing resolutions, which wore adopted at a bar meeting on the 20th, and they were ordered sproad upon tho minutes , of the court: Whereas, our boloved brother, D.vvid Cooper, Esq., departed t hi.-hie at Salt Lake city, Utah, on the night of Juuo 18th, 1877: therefore bo it ! Resolved, by the members of the bur of the Third judicial district of the territory of Utah.iu mounilul council assembled, at the tederal court room in Suit Lake city, First t hat by the death uf our , beloved brother tbe prolession has lost one of the brightest intellects, the territory a useful citiz -u, humanity an honest man, and society uu old aud trus gentleman. Second That we itmlur t- the relatives re-latives of the departed uur unit-pro sympathy in thiB Uourof their ttflhc tion, conscious of the inadequacy uf any words to assuage their grief. Third That we respectfully request re-quest that these resolutions be spread upon the records ol the Third district and supreme courts of this territory as a tribute of our respect to the deceased. de-ceased. Tlie following legal busiut-ss was transacted in the court: Ellen Read vs. Samuel G. Read; defendant's motion to vacate the order or-der granting alimony overruled. James AlcKnight vs. George C. Bates: motion of defendant to set uside the order of reference overruled. D. B. Stover vs. P. L. ShoafI; continued con-tinued for the term. Mary Ann Morris vs. Thomas Morris; Mor-ris; referred to Albert Haaan to take testimony and report the same to the court. I H. B. Claflin & Co. vs. B. M. Du 1 Rell; passed temporarily, to he taken by agreement of the parties. A. Peterson vs. C. J. Hamnierland; defendant's motion for a new trial granted, and defendant allowtd to amend bis answer upon payment of costs. A. G. Hunter vs. Helen Tarbet el al.; demurrer to complaint overruled, and defendants given ton days in which to aoswer. John P. Writberg etal. vs. Mineral Fork M. & S. Co.; demurrer to complaint com-plaint overruled; defendant excepted, and was allowed ten days in which to answer. John W. Lowell et al. vs. J. T. Parkinson et al.; demurrer to complaint com-plaint sustained; plaintiffs excepted. Augustus Kouutze et al. vs. Flair stan" S. M. Co. ; demurrer to complaint sustained and plaintifli allowed to amend. John W. Jenkina vs. Salt Lake city R. R. Co.; defendant's motion lor a new trial overruled. Mary Ann Morris rs. Thomas Morris; Mor-ris; judgment for plaintiff on tho pleadiDg.
