Tho M -veteran came from his home in Davis m eouuty with many of his relatives, and B thoroughly enjoyed the fostivitieB nr- m rnuged in his honor. He was born in H England, and came to Utah in 1850 M with the first handcart company, and H haa a family of 12 children (all the sons m nnd daughters of one mother) 11 of m whom are living, together with 101 B grandchildren and -12 great-grandchil- B drcn, The old gentleman is halo nnd m hearty, and appears to have many years B of life yet before him B A correspondent of the Salt Lake B Herald from Coalville eays: "Anop- B portunity is now presented which, if j taken advantage of by our citizens, will B eventually bring dollars to our town, B furnish employment to many of our H -citizens and prove a general benefit to H. B Clarence L, Maxwell, who has B acquired great notoriety einso taking B part in the Springville bank holdup last B May, is writing at the Provo jail an H account of his fifteen or sixteen years' B experience in this Western country, B which, when complete, -will contain B -about 100,000 words. Maxwell writes H from four to six hours each day in his H cell in the county jail, and from the H amount of manuscript now on hand : H making very rapid progress.
