Show New Utah! - Wednesday, December 9, 1998 - Pag 3 Symphony to present Christmas concert AF The American Fork conducted by Associate Conductor Diane Soelberg, will present a Christmas concert, Sunday, Dec. 13, at 7:30 p.m. in the auditorium of American Fork Junior High, 1120 North 20 .West. There is no admission charge but a $2 donation is sug- Waldteufel; "Stille Nacht" by Franz Gruber; "Festive Sounds of Hanukah" arranged by Bill and "Hallelujah Holcombe; from Chorus" Handel's; Symphony, . Thompson grew up in West Valley City. She began her musical studies at age 5. She began singing publicly when she was eight years old. She started in musical theater when she was eleven and sang the lead in the musical "Annie Get Your Gun" when she was in high school. She studied piano with Jan Eddington and Bessie Shawcroft, and voice with The American Fork Symphony is conducted by Dr. Gordon Childs and Associate Conductor Diane Soelberg. The symphony has expanded its membership to include Utah county musicians from Payson to Lehi. The symphony's e is chosen with families .and people of all ages in mind. The theme of the performance is "Christmas Suites", and will feature soprano soloist Shaunna Thompson. She will sing "He Shall Feed His Flock .Like, a Shepherd" from Handel's "Messiah" and "The Lord Is My Shepherd". The symphony will perform "Sleigh Ride" by LeRoy Anderson; "March of the Nutcracker," "Trepak," "Waltz of the Flowers," "Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy" by P.I. "Christmas Tschaikowsky; Festival" by LeRoy Anderson; "The Skaters Waltz" by E. Have You Tried Our Fabulous Kellie Rhodes and Jennifer Larson. on She has appeared "Touched by an Angel," "Promised , Land," "Walker Texas Ranger" and various LDS Church commercials and TV movies. She was the lead in "Parable of the Ten Virgins" and recently appeared in "Emma Smith Restoration." She is now appealing in "A Christmas Carol" at Hale Theater.
