Show New Utah! - December 9, 1998 - Obituaries Page 20 Roma S. Cozier Roma Strong Cazier, 77, a longtime resident of Boise, Idaho, passed away Saturday, Nov. 28, iyys at a program. She was also an active member and former officer of Daughters of Utah Pioneers. The most important activities in her life were her roles as wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and sister. She totally dedicated her life to her family. Their was always her first concern. She always offered support, encouragement and Boise hospi- tal. Roma as born June 30, 1921 in Alpine. She well-bein- g was the second of seven children born to Clyde and v Harriet Strong. She spent her wise counsel. "Gracious" is a word that describes Roma so well. She loved to have family and friends come to her home. And no one ever left hungry! Her home was a great source of pride and joy to her, and she was the epitome of younger years in Utah and graduated from American Fork High School. It was in Salt Lake City, where she worked in support of the nation's war effort, that she met a handsome returning soldier who swept her off her feet. In 1946, she married DeLoyd "Dee" Cazier. That was the of a beginning courtship, filled with love, respect, devotion and togetherness. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Roma was a lifelong member of the LDS Church. She gladly accepted opportunities to serve in the church. One of her first loves was Primary. She loved the children, and she loved the sisters with whom she develg oped such cherished and friendships. Those "Birthday Club" experiences were happy times for Roma. She particularly enjoyed the many years that she served in the Boise Temple along with her sweetheart. She and Dee also served for many years in the family history record extraction cleanliness. Roma is survived by her loving husband, Dee; a daughter, Louise Adams, and her husband, Tom, Inkom; a daughter, Judy Burdick, Boise; a son, Dee, and his wife, Mary, Meridian; and a daughter, Dianne Fagan, and her husband, Al, Stanley, Wise. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 27 greatgrandchildren. Other survivors 52-ye- include sister and brother-in-laFaye and Cliff Strom; sister, Gwynne Willman; brother and Dallas and Geri sister-in-la- Strong; brother, Clyde Strong; sister-in-la- and Ginger Strong; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by long-lastin- her parents; her stepfather, Clarence Mower; a sister, Ardus; a brother; Sam; and Jim Burdick. Funeral services were held Wednesday, Dec. 2, in the Cherry Lane LDS Chapel in Boise, Idaho. Burial was in the Morris Hill Cemetery. son-in-la- Shan Kim Jacobs Shan Kim Jacobs, "Jee Hwan Kim", 26, beloved and cherished son, brother, grandson, nephew, uncle, and cousin, collapsed suddenly on the ski slopes of Alta from an unexpected brain hemorrhage. Shan passed away the following day at L.D.S. Hospital. He was born March 20, 1972 in Taegu, Korea and as an infant came to bless the lifes of Judy Shannon Oram and Jerald H. Jacobs. Shan loved skiing, fishing, tying flies, hunting and spending time with friends and family. Shan spent his summers with his drift boat as a fishing guide on the Green River at Flaming Gorge. He is survived by his mother Virginia Yerke Lucy Wadley Haycock Shannon Oram, Oakcreek, Utah; father, Jerald H. Jacobs, American Fork; sisters Anjeanette Jacobs (Wendy Nance) Salt Lake and Jubalen (Matt) Shill, Pleasant Grove; Josh brother, McKinney, Oakcreek, Utah; grandmothers, Mary P. Jacobs, Pleasant Grove and Dixie Shannon, Joplin, Mo.; nieces, Shelbie J., Hannah E., and Brielle B. Shill all of Pleasant Grove; aunt, Jacqueline Jacobs, Salt Lake; cousins, Kelly Trimble (Mark Sansom), Sheldon Trimble (Jeff Titterton), Angela Trimble (Ron Baron), Brandon (Jenny Rachel Bishol) Trimble, Huntsman (Ryan Button), second cousins; Jacob, Tanner, Noah and Elijah. Funeral services were held Saturday, Dec. 5, in the Olpin Family Mortuary Chapel, Pleasant Grove. Burial was in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery. Shan will be greatly Judy missed! Lucy Wadley Haycock, 84, of Grove, died on Monday, November 30, 1998 of Pleasant Pneumonia. She born was to N e p h i outings to Mutual Dell and Granite Flat. She loved the exciting adventure of riding the "Interurban" to Springville to see her grandmother and her uncles, aunts and cousins. She graduated Suma Cum Laude from high school, and graduated BYU as an honor student and member of Gamma Phi "Jakie" and Jessie Robertson Wadley, Manila and Springville, and loved her many friends. She loved the many ward activities and especially loved the Ward on December 14, 1913, at their home in the "Good Old Manila Ward". She was delivered by her grandmother on that cold and snowy winter day, arriving before the doctor did in his horse drawn sleigh. She married Shepard Hal Haycock June 7, 1939, in the Salt Lake Temple and was active in the LDS Church all her life. A special wife, mother and friend, her legacy lies in her life long example of service in creating a very happy and interesting home life for her family, her service to her church wherein she shared her talents as an accomplished pianist and organist and served in Sunday School, Relief Society, and the MIA program, and in her friendly and gentle sweet loving spirit. She played the piano and organ or served as the chorister in many, many church and civic activities beginning when she was very young. She loved her family and friends, was' an excellent cook and homemaker, an accomplished quilter, dedicated genealogist, loved decorating her home with flowers, and served maybe best in seeing that her children were cared for and helped in their lives. Lucy loved growing up with her big brothers Bryce and Alex, enjoyed her cousins in Honor Society. Her first teaching assignment was at Piute High School in Circleville, Utah, where she met and married her dear husband and began a wonderful family relationship with the Haycock family. Later, she taught at the Utah State Training School creating a fine music program for the children at the school. She also taught in the Alpine School District. Our family would like to thank the many loving hands at the Alpine Valley Care Center who cared for our Mother these past few months. Lucy is survived by her four children: Joan Watson and Paul (Kathy) Haycock, Scottsdale, Ariz.; Roland (Susan) Haycock Carole and (Michael) Blackhurst, Pleasant Grove; Joan's children Layne and Lisa were especially close to their grandmother. She has 12 loved grandchildren, 11 and her brother, Alex (Nelda) Wadley. She is preceded in death by her father who died when she was only 14 months old, her wonderful mother, her husband Hal, her brother Bryce, and her Johnny W. Butt. Funeral services were held Saturday, Dec. 5, 1998, in the Manila Ward Chapel, Pleasant n, son-in-la- w Grove. Aria Cox Lee Aria Cox Lee, 80 of Lehi died December 5, 1998 at her home. She was born Jan. 18, 1918 in Lehi, Utah to Jacob Gardner and Martha Ann Taylor Cox. December 8, 1998 from compli- - lcations of She was born June 24, 1921 to William and cancer. Elizabeth Alice Schofield Austin. Married J. Grant Hi-Lo- 's Thelma Lee, April, 3 1939 Vernal, Utah. Marriage latter solenmized the LDS Temple. He died in Oct. 15, 1971. She was a homemaker and taught school in Vernal. Long time resident of Lehi, she served in the LDS church as a Primary teacher and in the Young Women's presidency. Thelma loved hunting and fishing with her family. She kept busy with arts and crafts. She had a great green thumb in her gardening and flowers. She loved to be with family and friends and loved putting jigsaw puzzles together. She left this world to be with her loving husband, Bud, and the fishing world above. He died February 2, 1953. Married Howard C. Yerke September 20, 1963 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She was a talented seamstress and quilter, did handiwork, and loved to make chocolates. She was a member of the LDS Church and served in many church callings and was a temple worker in Provo for many years. She was a member of the Olympian Club and the Singing Group. Her greatest joy was her n; Married Clifford Elmo in Survived by one son and three daughters; Clifford Jay Lee, LaPoint, Utah; Delila L.
