Salt Lake Area judges, be protested, got an extra on the basis of caseloads. The caseloads, said Judge Sheya, include scores of cases filed that are settled out of court and never come before a judge. He cited numerous kinds of cases which require but little judicial consideration or action. What the Price judge is concerned about is work. Regarding jury selections, Judge Sheya noted that the law provides for an eight-ma- n jury Panel; the law provides that each side may have three challenges. This leaves abal-an- ce of two persons to make up a jury of four. The city courts in Utah should not have to compromise the law, Judge Sheya believes. and Defense prosecution should not have to surrender a challenge to make the jury add up to four.
