Show mrs hattie griffith the high light of our sunday school easter program was an egg hunt for the three smaller classes in which thirty five or more small children participated every young ster had a very nice time and it was really interesting to the older people as well our little community was really the center for the easter ers it seemed everywhere ones eye could see people were lunch ing especially at the historic old dunn s rock it was really alive with people mr and mrs richard tracy are rejoin cing over their new arrival a baby boy this is their fourth child mr and mrs john and new baby daughter mr and mrs jack harrop and daughters carol ann and shawnee kay were sun day guests at the home ot of their parents mr and mrs owen cluff mr and mrs elmer bates and family made a trip to vernon east er sunday those in attendance at stake leadership meeting meetings at grantsville Grants ville sunday were mr and mrs samuel dark clark mrs mamie yates mrs myr tie tle paget and myself the members of the lake point relief society held a party wednes day evening in honor of elizabeth long who is a past president of the organization she was present ed with a lovely gift of love and remembrance for her outstanding ability as president A group of our young mutual folks enjoyed a pleasant evening of roller skating at the maple way roller skating rink in salt lake city wednesday evening arthur hogan sr and ralph griffith who are on the jury this term spent all day tuesday in mary ellen spent the weekend at garfield with mr and mrs douglas griffith we are happy to know that some of our people are lucky enough to have been promised a telephone for our towns convenience also some are getting the natural gas for their homes perhaps if we are earnest in our efforts as well as our patience we may get a few of lifes life s conveniences yet although it may be a trifle late I 1 might mention that our gold and green ball was really a success this year A nice crowd wa was S in at barbara cluff was crowned queen with colleen griffith and joan wil liams as attendants an orchestra from st john furnished the music mr and mrs harry buckingham and family of tooele thoele and mr and mrs floyd davies of midvale utah spent easter sunday at the home of their mother mrs eliza davies with spring making its appear ance or trying to very hard I 1 ive ve noticed our deer and I 1 do mean deer in more ways than one are leaving us somewhat and going higher toward the mountains it has been a common sight to have them on our front lawns in herds of ten or more and in the fields and along the road side so thick that we have been obliged to give i them the right of way or else have collisions I 1 don t think after herd ing them off my garden spot and front yards all winter that hunt ing deer this fall will hold many charms for me as it has in the past miss katherin mamales of mag na utah who is in nurses training at the st marks hospital in salt lake city spent the weekend visit ing with colleen griffith at her home here mr and mrs vaughn hammond mr and mrs donald griffith of garfield Garti eld and mr and mrs nick mad 11 of salt lake spent sun day at the wayne hammond home mr and mrs roger P monson spent two very lovely evenings in salt lake this week attending a reunion and banquet of the danish mission of the church of jesus chr st of latter day saints roger really enjoyed himself renewing his old acquaintances of the mis sion field mr and mrs willard wilmot and family of tooele thoele spent sunday with her folks mr and mrs jess long of lake point mr and mrs jess long of lake point are the proud grandparents of two new baby girls both babies were born at the L D S hospital in salt lake city just eight days apart one is the daughter of mr and mrs wilmot of tooele thoele the other mr and mrs junior long of salt lake have you noticed two lovely new chrysler cars running around lake point recently the owners wayne and sherman martin eions boys well I 1 see our old trusty and faithful friend our mail carrier marion lee is leaving us he has really been on the job all these years hail rain or shine we al ways could depend on our mail getting through to us eve every ry day we hope our new one will be just as efficient |
