Show OBITUARY NOTES SOPHIA LINDAN fuhrmeister sophia lindan fuhrmeister was born july 1821 and died at st george february 1898 the funeral funer services e r were held in the st george tabernacle february 1898 bishop andrus presiding singing prayer by bishops counselor thomas P cottam singing stake president daniel D mcarthur was the first speaker he said this sister has been a resident of this city almost from its commencement and her life has been upright and honorable at the commencement of the work in the st george temple she was considered worthy and was called to be a worker in that holy house and up to her death her name was on the book as a temple worker he referred to her many virtues virtue sand and the good examples she has set before her family and those by whom she has been surrounded elder david H cannon president of the st george temple said her fellow laborers in the house of the lord will miss sister fuhrmeister Fuhrme later as she was always on hand to attend to every duty required of her she has been a great sufferer and has now gone to I 1 her rest elder erastus B snow counselor to the president of the stake paid a tribute i to the many good qualities of the deceased elder james G bleak followed in a similar strain deceased leaves 6 living children and 6 have preceded her to the spirit world as has her husband she also leaves 27 grandchildren living and 9 great grandchildren and a host of friends who will long remember her for her many kind acts in life and all j join oln in saying rest in peace WILLIAM ATKIN JOHN BORROWMAN nephi march 2nd and 1898 died of old age john borrowman born in glasgow may 1816 funeral services were held in the nephi tabernacle on friday at 2 p m after singing elder chas chaa price offered prayer the speakers were elders thos abos vickers john chas sperry J W and apostle george teasdale elder W H pettigrew offered he benediction the pall bearers were C sperry L A bailey joe JOB and thos vickers wm win H pettigrew and bishop W H warner seventeen carriages followed the hearse to the cemetery father borrowman emigrated with his parents william and marion borrowman to ontario canada in 1820 in 1840 he joined the church to nauvoo in 2843 he was called to go back on a two years mission and was successful in bringing many into the told fold of christ on his return he started with the pioneers for the thlu rocky mountains he enlisted in the mormon battalion july 16 1846 served in company B under lieutenant smith and traveled by the way of fort leavenworth via santa fe to california he was mustered out of service jul july 1847 he stayed in california until october 1848 he was one of those who worked or on that noted mill race when the first gold was found he reached great salt saat lake city in the fall of 1848 1948 on jan ath 1849 he was married to agnes thompson parks who was one of the P pioneers of 1847 in 1853 brother and sister borrowman came and settled in nephi after obtaining himself a home he was again called to take a mission to canada in 1867 1857 president joseah young organized the forty ninth quorum of seventy and elder borrowman was called as one of the presidents hie served in this position for nearly forty years he served as a justice of the peace for over thirteen years he was a man of sterling integrity teg rity honest and upright in all his affairs and died in full fellowship he leaves a wife two sons a and d thrift daughters twenty nine ghandchi grand chi and one great grandchild not to too but to rejoice in having so good a parent to city of heart and kidney trouble patk ax 15 1898 she was the daughter of i joe joa eph Col collingston collinston Colllns linston ton and susanah oil cna son and was born at wakefield fork shire Engla england md may 15 1833 1832 her parents were not wealthy but they were honest and industrious her ft at ther died when she was an infant ws she was left to the care of her mother who struggled and bravely fought the ta battles of life to protect and rear ke little one to a life of purity and in ante rity this she did and the child ruth grew to womanhood and lived an hon arable life in Dece ioan 5 1866 1856 she emigrated to alte united states she landed in U mass masa on july ath after a balf broefle qa journ in several states she settled st louis missouri and the there rm on 21 sel a ja 30 1866 1856 she was married to falm 1 ephraem tillotson TH lotson now a well kahl and respected citizen of ogden ts marriage ceremony was per performed fornA 1 elder erastus snow she continued reside in st louis until the year biffi during their residence in that att their home was always open and d elders in the missionary field W found a warm wann welcome beneath th hospitable roof and sister tillo always ys took special care in to their comforts those ats acts of irn ri I 1 ness and are treasured la in tw memory of the recipients and ha h often been spoken of with by some of them in this city in she emigrated with her family to uta she came to ogden and settled on taft bench here she has continued to lh U 4 a life of love and utility growing ift A favor and in the affections of all ato knew her for a year past she hertl 1 suffered much from a complication t complaints which culminated in her d mise she being then 65 years and d H months old she had six chil children efti aoa j sixteen grandchildren one son as two daughters with her affectionate husband survive her the funeral services were held in ur tho fourth ward meeting house on priday feb 18 1898 and were conducted b t bishop E stratford consoling remarks were made by elders D IL stuart C F middleton joseph barry haarry L W shurtliff lff and bishop stratford all speaking in an appreciative of her pure and useful
