Show "MERRY WIDOW" TO BE PRESENTED AT SOUTH HIGH, APRIL 9 -12 0 Performance of the opera " The (X Merry Widow will be presented by J the Salt Lake Opera Association Vrf April 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th at the South High School. The principals for this production produc-tion are Elna Jean Anderson, Mrs. Margaret Lohner, Mrs. Betty Jeanne Chipman, Corrine Hill, Sally Arnovitch, Frank Gainey Jr. Eldon Richardson, Hulbert Ked-dmgton, Ked-dmgton, David Seegmiller, George Whitacher, Elias Castle, DcVal Garff and Parley Baer. A chorus of 40 singers and a 45 piece orchestra will support the 18 principals all under the general direction of Albert J. Southwick. The scenery is especially espec-ially made and very colorful, being be-ing prepared under the direction of Harry Allen Jr., who is directing direc-ting the dramatic parts. The orchestra orch-estra is in charge of Henry Miller Mill-er Jr., with Dorothy Trimble as concert master and Sarah Castle as the accompanist for the opera. The presentation was written by Franz Leliar is one of the most cclorful light operas. Several of the tunes are well known, the - Merry Widow waltz is the most popular. The story tells of a young and handsome nobleman who the court is trying to marry off to the "Merry Widow'" in order ord-er to save the country financially. Reserved seats downstairs are 75c. The unreserved seats down stairs are 50c. and upstairs ioc. The upper balcony is free. Miss Beth Whitney is supervisor supervis-or of routines and several dances will be introduced into the piece with Ralph Cannon solist and (Sir-ector (Sir-ector of dancing. This light opera I will he presented in modern ';os-., ';os-., tume for the fancy dress bafl in the second act. Members of the Opera Association Assoc-iation who are presenting 'the opera are Wallace F. Bennett president, L. K. Nickolsen vice-: vice-: president, Jessie Schofield secretary, secre-tary, J.
