Show Selective Service INSTRUCTIONS TO REGISTRANTS: REGIS-TRANTS: Utah local boards were instructed by Major H. Arnold Rich, Acting State Director of Selective Service to warn all registrant reg-istrant ordered to report for induction in-duction under the Selective Service Ser-vice System to arrange their affairs af-fairs so as to prevent undue personal per-sonal hardship if they are rejected reject-ed at Army induction stations. Pointing out that there are instances in-stances when men sent to induction induc-tion stations by local boards are Tfjected on bhvsical or other grounds by Army examiners, Major Maj-or Rich said that it is the intention inten-tion of State Headquarters to reduce to a minimum any injustices injus-tices to registrants involved in such cases. One of the outstanding possibilities possi-bilities of inequity to reject re-i re-i gistrants centers on the fact that I they may have severed their employment em-ployment connections when ordered ord-ered to report for induction, Major Maj-or said , Local hoards, therefore, should advise registrants when they are notified of their call that, they should point out to their employers em-ployers the possibilty that they will not be accepted at the induction in-duction station. Maior Rich advised also that registrants be advised that in the event of their rejection at the Armv induction station they not- ify their employers of the rejection rejec-tion immediately. |
