interesting reading according to the report on occupations recently isred by director william J harris of the bureau 0 oz of the census department 0 of commerce there were persons 10 years ot of age and over in utah engaged in gainful occupations in 1910 the gainful workers thus formed per cent of ct the total population of the stats state and per percent cent ot of the population 10 years of aso ap and over in 1900 the gainful workers of the state formed per cent of the total population and 43 per cent of the population 10 years of age and over the male galfus workers in 1900 numbered or ver per cent ot of all males 10 years of age and over as compared with or per cent in 1900 the temple gainful workers n 1910 numbered or per cent of all females 10 years of age and over as compared with or per cent in 1900 distribution of Wo rivers the gainful workers in 1910 were distributed among the main branches ot of occupation as follows agriculture forestry and animal husbandry hus badry or per cent extraction ot of minerals 10 or 76 per cent manufacturing and mechanical industries or 2 37 per cent transportation 3 2 or 94 per cen trade or 99 per cent public service 2520 or 19 per cent professional service or 6 per cent domestic and personal personal service or 82 per cent ard clerical occupations or br 49 per cent sox of workers of the gainful workers in 1910 or 86 per cent were males and rie or 14 per cent females in egri agriculture culture forestry and husbandry the males numbered 36 or per cent and the te fe or 25 per cent of bhoj the 1001 persons parsons engaged in the
