The affair was held in the Third ward recreation recrea-tion hall and refreshments were served. Mr. and Mrs. Leo G. Meredith were hosts for dinner Sunday to President and Mrs. Jesse M. Walker, Mr. and Mrs. Albert B. Allen. Miss Miriam Youner. Elder Clifford E. Young, and the quart erly conterence visitors, Levi Edgar Ed-gar Young and T. C. Stayner. Beta Sigma Phi Mrs. J. B. Rowland and Mrs. Cecil Ray Hansen were joint hostesses at the Rowland home, 173 West Main, Thursday evening to Psi chapter of Beta Sisrma Phi. Following an evening of needle work and social chat luncn was seved to eight ladies. Complimenting Carolyn Ririe who is leaving with her parents to make her home in Ogden, Peg gy Hansen entertained at a skating skat-ing party. After gliding around Provo Boat Harbor for a few hours the girls returned to the Hansen .. home where toasted sandwiches and hot chocolate were served. Bidden were De-lores De-lores Leitner, Mary Beth Peay, Diane Walker, Kathleen Buck- waiter, Shirley Bailey and the honored guest. Junior Ladies Literary Mrs. Garth Roundy and Mrs Max Hoggard were cohostesses to members of the Junior Ladies Literary club Thursday evening at the home of Mrs. Roundy's mother, Mrs. William D. Stewart Following a business discussion lead by Mrs. Ray C. Nelson, presi dent, members enjoyed a de lightful review of the book "The Bar-Nothing Ranch", given by Mrs. S. C. Jackson, Pleasant Grove. Refreshments were served serv-ed to 19 ladies. Lady Lions Thirty members of the Ladv Lions met for, their January dinner-meeting at the Silver Star Orem, Thursday evening. Acacia ana neatner, satin streamers, taper in candelabra and place cards in gold and purple, the club colors, made elaborate table decorations. Mrs. Lvean John son, Pleasant Grove, gave an in-J terestine review of the bonk "Adversary in the House" by irving stone, and Miss Miriam Young, accompanied by Mrs. Owen Humphries, entertained with a number of vocal solos Committee members were Mrs Lowell Bennett, Mrs. Louis O Old Friends Mrs. Guy Darling, Lehi, was hostess to the O. F. club Friday of last week. Mrs. Hugh Cheever, Cedar City, and Mrs. Morris Holmstead, Lehi, were special guests, and they and Mrs. Fred Bath won the prizes. Besides being her fifth birthday, she was hostess to a party at which eleven of her little lit-tle friends were present. Games and birthday refreshments were enjoyed by Suzanne Wadley, Claudia Bush, Ruthie Parker, Norine and Sterling Howe, Linda Kelly, Karen and Joyce Jensen, Randy and Carolee Eatough, J. L. Walker, arranged a party to which nineteen or ms nine friends came to his home. Games and refreshments made a merry time for all. In the group were Ann and Nancy Miller, Artalee Toth, Sandra May, Kay Storrs, Karen Teuscher, Mary Ann Bell, Carolyn Rogers, Leilani McTague, Ruth McDonald, Helen Jean Abel, Lana Peterson, Judith May, Max Storrs, Michael Marshall, Johnny Oscarson, Bobby Shumway, David Milne and Raymond Hackford and the young host. To complete the birthday joy, the orchestra at the Gold and Green Tuesday evening, at which the young man was an attendant, saluted John by playing "Happy Birthday" for him. Needless to say John was thrilled with this special recognition. Little Miss Rebecca Rowland, assisted by her mother, Mrs. J. B. Rowland, was the charming hostess hos-tess to a party Friday celebrating her seventh birthday. A lovely birthday cake featured the refreshments re-freshments and games were played by the children. Present were Marcia Ann Barratt, Diane Hansen, Kathie Hansen, Gary Howes, Julia King, Kathie Nich-oles, Nich-oles, Barbara and Lorraine Smith and Joanne Rowland.
