HOME BURGLARY - A woman wom-an was asleep in her home early Tuesday morning. June 11, in the area of 700 S. 200 West, and at about 4:30 a m. thought she could hear someone walking around in the unfinished basement base-ment of her home. The woman got up and went downstairs to investigate and came face to face with a strange man in the basement. She let out a scream and ran back upstairs and could hear a commotion downstairs which sounded like more than one individual scurrying about. Officers Of-ficers responded to the call for help and found that the suspect or suspects had gotten into the home through a basement door and had loaded up the family's computer system and dropped it just outside the home in their effort ef-fort to make a hasty escape. Officers were not able to locate lo-cate the suspect or suspects in the area. The woman described the man she saw as being about 18-21 years old, possibly Hispanic, His-panic, with black buzzed hair and wearing a blue T-shirt. STOLEN CAR - A silver 2000 Hyundai Accent 2-door was stolen sto-len sometime Wednesday night, June 6, from the area of 500 N. 100 East. The car was unlocked, but the owner can account for all keys. STOLEN CAR - A black Plymouth Plym-outh Breeze was stolen Wednesday Wednes-day night, June 6, from the area of 600 N. 800 West. The car was left unlocked with the keys in the ignition. UVSC partners with A-1 Driving School 'JOH IH (.OUrVY V.MF All potential drivers are required re-quired to complete a driver education edu-cation course before obtaining a driver license. UVSC offers an Online Driver Education Gnirse in partnership with A-1 Driving Sch(X)l. This course enables students stu-dents who have busy summer schedules to still obtain a driver license without adding another in-class requirement. Students enjoy the options of reviewing videos and lessons, learning at their own pace, and studying when it is convenient. Michele Straube said, "The Internet-based drivers ed really was the perfect solution for us." The UVSC portion of the course is 30 hours of study, which includes online lectures, quizzes, and exams to be completed within 60 days. The driving portion of the course includes 6 hours of driving and 6 hours of observation time. Tuition for the entire course is $280. Artists are invited to enter work in the following categories: catego-ries: oil, acrylic, water media, mixed media, graphics, drawingblack draw-ingblack and white, drawing colored, photography black & white, photographycolored, sculpture & woodworking. Children and youth entries are judged in divisions that are determined de-termined by age. Adult entries are judged in two divisions, novice or experienced. Children and youth may submit sub-mit work that is framed, matted mat-ted or mounted on heavy card stock. All adult entries must be framed with a wire secured to the back for hanging. Judging is done by fully accredited professionals. Ribbons Rib-bons and small cash prizes are awarded. The judges award one "Best of Show" in the ChildrenYouth Divisions and one in the NoviceExperienced Divisions. The viewing public awards one "People's Choice Award" in the ChildrenYouth Divisions and one in the NoviceExperienced NoviceExperi-enced Division.
