Our beloved, mother, grandmother grand-mother and sister, Janet Holmes Parry, passed away peacefully surround ed by her family on June 10, 2007 after from a short illness. Janet was born June 24, 1931 in Miners- ville, Utah to Harry Franklin Holmes and Bertha Gray Holmes. She married mar-ried Carl A. Parry, August 8, 1953 in Elko, Nevada. Their marriage was later solemnized in the St. George Temple. Carl passed away in 1997. Janet worked for the telephone company in Cedar City and Mid-vale Mid-vale where she first met Carl. He was the love of her life. As a family, fam-ily, they enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, ballgames, cookouts, and time spent together. Carl and Janet treasured the times they traveled the world with family and friends. She retired from Alpine School District as a lunch worker and cherished the many dear friends that touched her life. She also enjoyed her Bunco and neighborhood lunch friends. Janet served as secretary in the Primary, Relief Society, and the Sunday School. She spent countless count-less hours working in the church extraction program and was a member of the DUP. She was an immaculate housekeeper, excellent excel-lent cook, and was best friends with her sisters. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and adored her 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. "Mom you are loved, we are excited for your reunion with dad!" She is survived by her three sons: Wayne (Deanne) Parry, Pro vo; Doug (Linda) Parry, Pleasant Grove; Frank (Juli) Parry, Pleasant Pleas-ant Grove; four siblings: Charlotte (Lynn) Reed, Bill (Lois) Holmes, Mildred (McKay) Davis, Wendell (Laurel) Holmes. She was preceded in death by an infant son and two grandchildren: grand-children: Parker and Ridge; two brothers, Robert and Frank Holmes. Hol-mes. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 16, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. in the Battlecreek Fourth Ward Chapel, 1106 East 200 South, Pleasant Grove. Friends may call Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Olpin Family Mortuary, Mortu-ary, 494 South 300 East, Pleasant Grove and at the church on Saturday Sat-urday one hour prior to services. Marjorie Rae Hatfield Davis Our sweet loving wife, mother, sister and friend Marjorie Rae Hatfield Davis passed away June 8, 2007 with loved ones by her side. Marjorie was born on February 24, 1936 in Springville Utah. She was the first of seven children chil-dren born to Woodrow and Raynor Hatfield. Hat-field. Marjorie graduated from Springville High School in 1954. She married Dix B. Davis on July 16, 1954 in Springville. They were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple Tem-ple on June 5, 1964 and are the proud parents of six children. Marjorie's love for her family took precedence above all else and their comfort and well being was of the utmost importance to her. She always had a "twinkle" in her eye when she spoke of her children and her grandchildren. She was an active member of the LDS church and had a strong testimony tes-timony of the Gospel. She served in many callings in the Church including Primary, Relief Society President and Counselor. She served in the Mount Timpanogos Temple for many years with her husband and cherished that calling call-ing dearly. Marjorie was a talented and gifted artist and passed those talents on to her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed wa-tercolors wa-tercolors the most. She was an accomplished seamstress. She de signed and created her own wedding wed-ding dress while in High School. She was the costume designer and creator for the Utah Pageant of the Arts for 17 years. Marjorie worked for the LDS Church at the church office building, build-ing, evaluating film from all over the world. She had a great love of Genealogy Geneal-ogy and could always be found searching diligently for her ancestors. ances-tors. She enjoyed creative writing writ-ing and poetry and wrote many poems. She was loved by all who knew her. Marjorie's sweet countenance and humble spirit will truly be missed. Marjorie is survived by her husband hus-band Dix of 52 years and her six children, Kennyon Davis, Bryan (Amy) Davis, Denise (Doug) Baird, Kyle Davis (Karen), Danual (Cathy) Davis, Randall (Kati) . Davis, 25 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 2 brothers Dennis Hatfield, Ron Hatfield, 3 sisters Joyce Leamaster, Connie Childs and Laurie Crandall. Ail Our beloved husband, father, and grandfather, Richard Leslie Hansen, 63, passed away peacefully peace-fully at his home on Monday, June 11th, 2007. Richard was born on December 19th, 1943 to Leslie Oscar Hansen and Elma Delilah Deli-lah Snow in Galveston, Texas. As a young child he moved to Belling-ham, Belling-ham, Washington and then to Salt Lake City. He earned the rank of Eagle Scout and was a graduate of Davis High School. Richard attended Weber State University before serving in the Southern Australian mission for the LDS church. After returning home, he attended Brigham Young University Univer-sity where he earned a bachelor's degree with a major in Archeology Archeol-ogy and a minor in history. He enlisted in the military and served in the Vietnam War. Upon returning return-ing from the war, Richard earned a Master's degree from BYU in Archaeology. In 1970, Richard married Nancy Donaldson, and they had two children Scott and Eric. They were later divorced. Richard married Virginia (Ginny) Ann Kearney in 1978. They have three children Jonathan, Megan, and Hilary. Richard was actively involved in the LDS church. He held many positions, including serving as a ward clerk for about 20 years. One of his favorite callings was being a home teacher. Richard was also active in the community. He took his responsibilities as a citizen very seriously and always tried to better his community. Richard retired from Qwest Communications Com-munications in 2003 after working there for 27 years. He was a longtime long-time member of the Utah Statewide State-wide Archaeological Society serving serv-ing in many leadership positions, most recently being president of the statewide organization. Most important in Richard's life was his family. He was a devoted husband and father who supported his children in a variety of activities. He enjoyed watching and coaching coach-ing his children in various sports. He taught his children to never be afraid of trying new tilings. He particularly delighted in his grandchildren. Richard is survived by his wife, Ginny, and his children Scott (Sarah), Dixon, CA; Eric, Orem; Jonathan (Janelle), Herndon, VA; Megan (Nathan) Mayfield, Idaho Falls, ID; and Hilary (Gregory) Larson, Vail, AZ. Also by his grandchildren Drew and Paige Hansen, Trey Hansen, Mason Mayfield, and Jayden Larson. He is survived by his sister, Carol (Dave) Sharp, Salt Lake City; and his brother, Roger (Sonja) Hansen, Han-sen, Provo. ALso by his in-laws, Lloyd and Ilene Kearney, brothers-in-law Pat (Sherry) and Gail, and sisters-in-law Joyce (Tracy) Christ ensen and Kerrie (Sean) O'Brady, all of Shelley, ID and many loving nieces and nephews. Richard was preceded in death by his parents. The family would like to thank the members of the Timpanogos ,rth ward for their love, support, and prayers as well as the many friends he has made through the years. We would also like to thank the IHC Hospice Team who faithfully cared for him during his last months. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 15th at 11:00 am in the LDS chapel located at 332 East 500 North in Pleasant Grove. A viewing will be held on Thursday, June 14th in the Olpin Mortuary located at 494 South 300 East in Pleasant Grove from 6:00-8:00 p.m., and also prior to the funeral service from 9:30-10:45 a.m. at the chapel. Bob Phelps of American Fork passed away Sunday, June 10, 2007 with his loving family by his side. For two years he courageously battled cancer with humor and hope. Bob was born March 1, 1946 in Mont-pelier, Mont-pelier, Idaho to Anne Elva Phelps Mad-dox Mad-dox and McK ay Phelps. Bob graduated from American Fork High School where he was Captain of the football team. He attended Snow College and Utah State University where he earned his degree in accounting. In 19(4 he met the love of his life, Lena Gean Gurney and were married November 19, 1965. Bob served two years in the army. During his first year while stationed in Fort Polk, Louisiana his first son Rusty was born. His second son, Joel, was born during dur-ing his tour in Vietnam. Their daughter Mindy was born after his return. Bob started his own accounting business, R. Phelps and Associates in 1974 and ran it successfully until his passing. He was an avid marathon runner, participating in the St. George Marathon for 17 consecutive years. He especially enjoyed running the Honolulu Marathon in 2001 where his entire family was present to cheer him on. Most everyone remembers seeing Bob running through town. Bob loved camping, fishing, spending time with his sons and grandson Elk hunting and spending spend-ing time at the family cabin where he enjoyed four-wheeling with family and friends. His favorite pastime however, was watching his grandchildren's baseball, Softball, and basketball games. Bob is survived by his loving wife Lena Gean; two children: Rusty (Wendy) Phelps, Joel (Niki) Phelps; three grandchildren (the other loves of his life) Lindsey, Trevor, and Witni; Stephanie Tanner (like a daughter); parents: Anne Maddox and McKay (Ethel) Phelps; mother-in-law, I ret a Gurney; Gur-ney; siblings: Val (Nila) Phelps, Jim (Lynne) Phelps, Larry Phelps, Melinda (Joe) Humes, Toni (Mike) Ashenbrenner, Judy (Ed) Steele, Gary (Tammy) Maddox and Steve Snow. Bob was preceded in death by his daughter Mindy; father-in-law, Donald Gurney; and step-fat her, Bill Maddox.
