Pangultch BLM Names Archaeologist For Southern Utah Area Fearl M. Parker, manager of the Richfield District, Bureau of Land Management, has announced the appointment of LaMar W. Lindsay, a native of Salt Lake City, to fill the position of archeologist. Though based in the Richfield District, his duties will include the development and preservation of archeological sites, in conjunction with multiple-use management plans, on all public lands administered by the BLM in the southern part of Utah. Mr. Lindsay attended public schools in Salt Lake City, after which he served four years with 1 the United States Navy as a Sonarman. Following his military service, he attended the University of Utah where he earned his BS Degree in anthropology and archeology in June, 1965. He is presently working on his requirements for an advanced degree. While In college he served as a visiting instructor of anthropology at Utah State University and received was narrowly defeated 34-27 In low scoring game after Kanab crew came in for a big surprise when Cats pace through evening. teaching fellowships in the field of anthropology. He has participated as a member on archeological excavation teams in the Nephi and San Juan County areas and has done extensive surveying for State Highway programs. Mr. Lindsay is an active member of several professional organizations Including the American Anthropological Association, The Society for American Archeology and the American Association for the Advancement of Science. Mr. Lindsay married the former Helen Sanford of Ogden, who teaches school in Salt Lake City. |
