Show Kanab Dumps Bobcats In Squeaker By 34-27 Score When the Kanab Cowboy ma the Pangultch BobcaU In Bobcat territory Friday night they were in for a big surprise even though Kanab won 54-27. In the Junior Varsity game, the Bobcats let the Cowboys take the lead through the game and then came on strong to tie the game at 3W9. After stalling through one overtime, the BobcaU took over. No. 22 Craig Heaton made one foul shot for the BobcaU followed by two more foul shot polnU by Martin Nay of Pangultch and Millard Hatch of Pangultch made the final foul shot for Pangultch making a victory score of 43-39. Though the BobcaU were much shorter than the Cowboys, they wouldn't let the Cowboys get much of a lead during the first quarter of the varsity game. With quite a few fouls, the score after the first quarter was IMS In Kanab's favor. Going Into the second quarter, Kanab received two technicals against them. One shot was no good, but Gary Church put the second one In. Then Kanab took over again to run the score to 14-28 at the half. After the Cowboys boasted that they would "beat you by at least 40 points" the BobcaU took over in the third quarter and the name of the game was sUll. For seven minutes and forty-four seconds of the eight minute quarter the BobcaU played catch. With six seconds left in the third quarter Bobcat Jeff Owens made a basket, After a courageous fight in the last quarter the BobcaU came within three polnU of catching the Cowboys, to be defeated 34-27. |
