All campgrounds in South Willow Canyon (Stansbury Mountains, west ooele and Grantsville) will be open with fees, except Loop. Evanston Ranger District (307) 7893194: Stillwater, East Fork and Bear River campgrounds will be open with fees, but no water. All other campgrounds, roads and trails will be closed due to snow. Mountain View Ranger District (307) 782-6555: All campgrounds will be open with fees. Higher elevation trails will be closed due to snow. Kamas Ranger District (435) 7834338: Yellow Pine, Lower Provo, Soapstone and Shady Dell campgrounds along the Mirror Lake Highway will be open for Memorial Day weekend with fees, all other campgrounds will be closed due to snow. Smith & Morehouse and Ledegefork campgrounds in the Weber River drainage will be open with water and fees. Visitors parked or camping along the Mirror Lake Scenic Byway must display a fee pass. Passes are available at the district office, several self serve tubes along the highway and at several local Kamas merchants and at the Bear River Lodge. Day passes are $3.00, 7-day passes are $6.00 and annual passes are 25.00. Passes can be purchased at Forest Service Offices in Kamas Utah, Evanston Wyoming, and local business in Kamas and Evanston. Some lower elevation roads and trails and all higher elevation roads/trails are not accessible due to snowy/muddy conditions. The Mirror Lake Highway (USR 150) may not be open for the Memorial Day Weekend, or soon after, due to snow. For information about the opening of the Mirror Lake Highway call UDOT at (801) 9754900. For current road, trail and campground conditions please call the Forest Service Office that manages the area you are planning to visit. For off-highway vehicle information please call and get the most current information about which roads are open or closed to OHV’s. REMEMBER TO RIDE RESPONSIBLY! If you are planning to use livestock on National Forest lands, remember that you are permitted to use only certified weed free straw, hay, or pellets. When hiking, always carry extra water and food and take along a coat and something to make a fire with just in case you get stuck on the mountain for the night and in case the weather turns bad. Always let someone know where you are hiking and approximately what time you will return. Enjoy your National Forests and please be safe.
