Show RUSSIA AND MANCHURIA. The United States cannot Interfere in the Manchuria trouble beyond insisting that our country coun-try must have an equal show in the commerce of that country. This will be secured or there fl will be retaliation against Russian trade. We H think it will be secured, for our nation is the 1 one of all the world that Russia does not want fl any clashings with. H When the present Czar was but Crown Prince H he was in London on one occasion. He went to H see Cody's Wild West show and became greatly H interested. He asked to be presented to Colonel H Cody and the two soon became great friends. One day the Royal Russ. said to the Royal Bill: "There are but two countries in the world, yours and mine. With you all the people rule, with us one man rules. The others do not count." It is quite probable that he still clings to that H opinion. His forces will continue to occupy Man- churia; it looks now as though the intention was to have Korea engage in war with Japan to sup- H ply Russia with an excuse to go to the assistance of Korea, but whether that proves to be the case or not, does not matter. Russia has a north and south railroad and an east and west raihoad through Manchuria and she will give up that country just about the same time that Great Britain withdraws from Egypt. But what of it? H Manchuria will be the better because of Russian v occupation, and if American trade is not inter- H ferred with there, our country has no kick. There H is much more cause for interference in Central. H and Southern Russia where the Jews are being jH overwhelmed through murder and rapine, much H more where the Turk by Russian permission is ll devastating the small states of Southeastern Eu- il rop. As yet our country can only protest, but it flH all goes well in our Republic, before the present H century closes, ours will be a world power so tremendous that her requests will amount to com- H mands the world around. Our belief is that slow- H ly but surely the Anglo-Saxons of all countries are ! growing nearer and nearer to each other a- ( HH are more and more dominating the affairs of the great world. In fifty years more our people will M have made a peaceful conquest of all the conti- M nent down to Chili. Each state will have its M own government but resident Americans will M control these governments, and before that time M Great Britain will have possessed herself of about M all that will be Avorth having in Africa. Russia H sees this and hence is quietly fixing her naval H stations on the Northeast ccast, of Asia, and is H preparing to establish others on the Persian Gulf H and the Hellespont. H |
