Show Mining JSfote. The" Old Hickory and the 0. K. mines of the Majestic company are both making a very good showing and quite a rivalry has started up between be-tween the mine crews to place their mine in the first place with the company. Both mines are developing large ore bodies. & : An effort is being made to locate the stockholders stock-holders of the Little Giant Mining company of Park City. The company owns several claims adjoining the Naildriver and Hawic-eye-McHenry claims and recent developments at these mines have been so encouraging that an effort will be made to re-organize the old company and if possible pos-sible develop their ground, which includes the Olive Branch, Cataract and others, all patented ground. "When the big fire swept Park City, all the records and books of the company were destroyed de-stroyed and since then no effort has been made to straighten out its affairs. No development work has been done on this property since 1879, but every effort will be made to learn the names of the stockholders, most of whom have long since forgotten that such a company ever existed. Mr. Rohlflng, the civil engineer for the Bullion-Beck Bullion-Beck company, has just completed maps of that company's ground dividing all the levels from the two to the sixteen hundred into blocks of one hundred feet. These blocks are to be leased and the royalties to be regulated by the net value of the ore taken out. The company's hoisting plant and blacksmith shop will be at the disposal of the leasers who will pay a fixed price for the number of cars of ore or rock hoisted. This plan will also govern the- sharpening of tools used. Many of the old employes believe they can make money on a fair leasing contract. & & & There seems to be quite a few changes slated for March 1st in the way of superintendencies at Park City. President It. G. Wilson of the Now York Bonanza announced that Mr. McSorley, who has so long been superintendent of the Daly-Judge is to act in that capacity for his company. Mr. McSorley is one of the directors and large shareholders share-holders of the New York Bonanza company, and is confident that it will make a big mine. He has been identified with it from its beginning. Much speculation is going on as to who will succeed Mr. McSorley with the Daly-Judge, and those best informed in-formed seem to think that Newt. Dunyon, who is at present assistant superintendent of the Daly-West, Daly-West, will fill the vacancy. fc icfr O Manager Tony Jacobson of the Columbus Consolidated, Con-solidated, Is in from that property. He is confident that the main tunnel, which is now in 1,200 feet, will reach the big ore body I within the next fifteen feet, and according to ex pert opinion this immense ore body should be on-countered on-countered within the next few rounds of shots. |
