The Heritage theatre is now showing The Innocents written by Williams Archibald and directed by William Hall assisted by Dorothy Harrop. It is a gothic story of a governess caught up in an evil situation in the traditional English manor house in 1865. Flora comes alive when the bubbling, bouncing Holly Bingham laughs, teases and chants her way through the part of the Steven Olsen brings to his lines as Miles a certain snobbish quality seldom seen outside the British upper class. The midnight scene played by the light from two candles with the children snitching the cake from the pantry and playing cards on the floor was almost a scene from my own household... except for the two ghosts of evil. The production is a perfect evening for those who want an excuse to cuddle in the love seats. But it is definitely not for the faint hearted.
