The invocation was offered of-fered by -J"hu S. Boyer, Sr., and Fred J. Miller sang "Oh My Father' Fath-er' Bishop W. K. Johnson, Jr., was the first speaker and he paid tribute to the life and labors of Mrs. Iiissell as a pioneer, a faithful member mem-ber of the church and a citizen. A. W. Ifarmor spoke of the great esteem es-teem in which she was held by her family and many friends. "This vast audience and so many beautiful flowers itespeaks the esteem es-teem in which she was held and testifies of her lovable and kind disposition," he said. A male quartet quar-tet composed of Elmo Coffman, Byard Johnson, Oscar Buyer and Fred J. Miller sang, "The Vacant Chair." The last speaker was Bishop Bish-op J. F. Bringhurst who testified to her life of sacrifice and service, honesty, industry and humility. He also paid a tribute to her and her husband as pioneers among the first to settle in Springville and of the great contribution they made toward making the city what it is today. Bishop W. K. Jolmsoj-J"? and Mrs. Charles Binks-Sfinjf a duet "Shall We Meet ' Our Lord and Savior," and the benediction was "pv jounced hy Henry T. Reynolds. The interment took place in the city cemetery under the direction of the Wheeler Mortuary. Mrs. Bissell was born in Dauphin, Pennsylvania, October 27, 1S3?. Her parents moved to Illinois when she was three years old. She was among the Latter-day Saints that were driven out of Nauvoo at the time of the expulsion. She saw Joseph Smith and his brother Hy- rum after their martyrdom. Walton of Salt Lake City, Mrs. ' Roxa White, John A. Bissell and j Mrs. George W. Harrison all of j Sprinrille, Mrs. T. S. Hanford of j San Francisco, California and C. E. ! Bissell of Salt Lake City. Her pos-! pos-! ferity numbers 9 children, 55 grand-i grand-i children, 07 great grandchildren ! and 5 groat-great grandchildren, a J total of 134. |
